Tongariro Alpine Crossing

Tongariro River Rafting
At Tongariro River Rafting based in Turangi (just south of Taupo), we are the most experienced outdoor adventure company on the Tongariro River. The owners, Garth and Leigh Oakden, are Turangi locals and have owned the business since 1990. We create journeys and share stories, bringing people closer to nature through biking, fishing and rafting. For us, it is all about the experience. We also like to have fun!
Forgotten World Adventures

Forgotten World Adventure, giving visitors the exciting opportunity to self-drive along the 142 kms of heritage rail tracks during the summer season of October through to May (with some shorter winter tours available by arrangement), immersed in the remote and stunning New Zealand landscape.

March – July is hunting at its best in NZ. Superb trophy animals, 12 – 20 pointers present an irresistible challenge.
The terrain provides a variety of opportunity from steep faces to grazing flats to view and prepare for your trophy shot AND capture some of the most precious memories ever to be made.
The thrill of tracking trophy animals for our guests is part of the enjoyment, and sharing it with others is what Waipari is all about. Other wild trophy animals include fallow bucks, wild ram, goats, turkey and ducks (in season), hares and rabbit – all in abundance.

At Floating Rock we planted our first vines in 2004, dedicating our passion to creating exquisite, hand-crafted wines from Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes. The combination of the local climate and pumice loam soil created by years of volcanic activity work to deliver a unique range of wines that we are exceptionally proud of. We produced our first vintage wines of Pinot Grigio and Blanc de Noir in 2007 and have since extended our range to superb Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir and award-winning Methode Traditionelle and a Late-Harvest Pinot Gris Ice Wine.
